Sharlaa and Greylock by PookaWitch Sharlaa and Greylock by PookaWitch
October 2012

(ETA) I showed my WIP on the DDO forums, for those curious they can take a peek. [link]

Sharlaa (my second D&D character ever, my first seriously played one) and her constant wolf companion Greylock. When druids came out on DDO I couldn't resist creating her on there. (She was originally in 2nd ed a cleric with an 'animal cleric' kit which pretty much made her more like a druid with the druid animal abilities, and different spells then a druid.)
Because her name was already gone on DDO, I added an extra 'a' to the end (from Sharla to Sharlaa).

It amazes me how well you color/shade/draw fur! You have a lotta patience, haha. XD This is absolutely precious! I love the interaction between the two, very affectionate. :3

Sharlaa's outfit looks killer, too! o: I am really loving those fur boots, as well as the arm-warmers(?).

Very awesome job! ^^

I can't be modest about the patience with fur, it's one of the most time consuming things I do in art. O.o

Oooh, I can't take much credit for her outfit, it's mostly based after the plains armor from DDO, with some personal tweaking.

Definitely have to give yourself props there! ;D

The outfit is still very well-drawn, though. o:

I just reeeealy wanted to add an antler onto Sharlaa somewhere to represent her being a druid of Herne. I thought hanging off of her like a trophy or talisman/fetish would work.

I think it worked ^^ I mean it doesn't look like it's thrown on for no reason, and doesn't appear to be outta place either. ^^

Fabulous as ever, and I love the additonal thought to put 'bracers' on the wolf's forelegs!

Yay for Druids (or should I say those who became druids?) This has always been on of my favorite classes, and I'm always glad to see another character of yours! I love how you added the leave pattern, since it just brings that warm, cozy sensibility that comes with fall and the changing of the seasons.

Wish you well, dearest Pooka! Great job and thanks for sharing!

XD Well for 3rd ed cleric didn't quite work any longer, so I kept putting off updating her.. and finally talked it over with my husband and made her gestalt cleric/druid. (She was played to epic levels in 2nd ed already, which was quite a feat back then. O.o So I'll lower her level a bit and give her both classes.)

Sharlaa always had these warm tones to her (she's definitely an autumn. lol )and it looked odd with the cool toned Greylock, so I added the leaves to make the colour flow a bit more.
